Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair Opens Next Tuesday
830 Exhibitors Expected at World’s Largest Timepiece Event
31 August 2018 – Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd and the Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades and Industries Ltd, the 37th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the concurrent Salon de TE will run 4-8 Sept at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Eliza Lee, Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, will be the guest of honour at the event’s opening ceremony.
The largest event of its kind in the world will showcase about 830 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, featuring a wide variety of watches, clocks and related products while connecting industry players from around the world. To help the industry capture more business opportunities, a range of exciting events including watch parades, product launch sessions, buyer forums and seminars will also be held throughout the fair period, with renowned industry leaders taking part.
Salon de TE, a superior platform for international watch brands and designer collections, will showcase more than 140 brands in five thematic zones, including the World Brand Piazza, Chic & Trendy, Craft Treasure, Renaissance Moment and Wearable Tech. Salon de TE will open to public visitors aged 12 or above free of charge on the last day of the fair (8 Sept).
The World Brand Piazza, sponsored by Prince Jewellery & Watch for the ninth consecutive year, will present 13 renowned international brands including two newcomers – Parmigiani Fleurier and Sarcar Genève – as well as returning exhibitors Blancpain, Breguet, Chopard, Corum, Franck Muller, Glashütte Original, Jacob & Co., Jaquet Droz, Juvenia, Piaget and Zenith.
On the first day of the fair, invited guests will attend the Salon de TE Gala Dinner held under the event’s theme “Capsule of Wonders”. Renowned French chef Olivier Limousin, Executive Chef of L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Bangkok, will curate an exquisite menu for the occasion, which will be preceded by a cocktail reception with a parade of high-quality branded watches. The events will feature a lineup of celebrities, including actresses Katy Kung and Kelly Fu, as well as master of ceremonies Heidi Chu.
A special media tour of the fair will be held on the opening day, Tuesday (4 Sept) to provide a preview of selected zones, pavilions and brands, including the Swiss Independent Watchmaking Pavilion, Memorigin, Coinwatch and Daumier.
