19 November 2013 – More than 400 business leaders and senior government officials from the United Kingdom and Hong Kong attended the 30th anniversary Hong Kong Dinner in London last night.
Guest of Honour
Speakers included Hong Kong SAR Government Financial Secretary John Tsang, who delivered the keynote address, and UK guest of honour Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
In his speech, the Financial Secretary outlined the growth in Hong Kong-UK trade over the last three decades, and summarised major developments underway in Hong Kong, including large-scale infrastructure projects.
Think Asia, Think Hong Kong
Dr Cable highlighted the business culture Britain and Hong Kong share and the determination of both sides to expand their trade. “British-Hong Kong trade has gone from strength to strength in recent years, at least in part due to the campaign “Think Asia, Think Hong Kong” and our own GREAT campaign in the UK,” he said.
