Vision of the Future
Enhancing the impact of the Autumn Electronics Fair will be the concurrent electronicAsia 2010, which provides buyers with additional sourcing synergy and a chance to seek exciting new business ventures and partners.
This year’s shows take place amid positive market sentiment. In the first eight months of 2010, Hong Kong’s exports of electronics products and electrical parts grew by 36 per cent and 37 per cent respectively over the same period last year. Exports of parts and components to the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong’s largest export market, expanded rapidly on the back of expansion in outward processing production. Electronics exports to the European Union and the United States also performed well, amid the resurgence of consumer demand for electronics products.
Also making a debut at the fairs will be a new iPad application that allows users to browse HKTDC product magazines on the move. Overseas buyers will find the new app offers a great way to source before and after trade events, as they can browse the latest product trends and flip through product images or go to direct links to supplier websites and submit enquiries to suppliers. Free Wi-Fi access will also be provided in cooperation with PCCW at their 8,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across Hong Kong for buyers using laptops or mobile devices to visit hktdc.com.
