Hong Kong Fashion Featured at Ontimeshow in Shanghai
19 April 2017 – Fashion Hong Kong made its debut at the Ontimeshow at Westbund Shanghai on 8-10 April 2017. For the first time, Fashion Hong Kong joined hands with 24 ready-to-wear and fashion accessories designer labels to present their latest designs and styling ideas at Ontimeshow ‒ Autumn/Winter Collection 2017, held during Shanghai Fashion Week.
The 9 April "Fashion Hong Kong Day" featured two fashion presentations by cocktail dress label Maison Vermillion by Dora Chu and menswear label The World Is Your Oyster by Calvin Chan and Joyce Kun. The presentations were attended by more than 400 journalists, buyers and fashion enthusiasts. Footage of the presentations was also shared on social media channels.
Overwhelming responses were received from the media, buyers and fashionistas. The designers were interviewed by Xinhua News Agency, CECI China and Xinmin Evening News as well as the KOL Vivian Xu and Toni. The event was also covered by the international fashion press including Cosmopolitan, ELLE and VOGUE. Hong Kong designers Mountain Yam and Cecilia Ma, who also participated in the show, were invited to a live interview by Shanghai Television and to collaborate with the L'Oréal group respectively.
Among the Hong Kong designer labels participating in Ontimeshow this season, Maison Vermillion, KAY LI, Chailie Ho and LOOM LOOP have presented their collections at international events, such as the Copenhagen, New York and Tokyo Fashion Weeks; some, including but not limited to Yeung Chin, Phenotypsetter, Blind by JW, Absolute Vintage, HAK and FABcessories, are based at PMQ, Hong Kong’s leading design and creativity hub. Other participants included noteworthy up-and-coming designer labels that bring fresh ideas to the fashion scene.
Fashion Hong Kong is a series of international promotional events organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to promote Hong Kong fashion designers and labels in the global fashion arena.
Also, during Shanghai Fashion Week, Hong Kong designers Mim Mak (brand: HANG) and Aries Sin (brand: MODEMENT) presented their Autumn/Winter 2017 collections at YNOT SHOWROOM on Hengshan Road.
Year-round fashion promotion with CENTRESTAGE as the highlight
The Shanghai event is part of HKTDC fashion industry promotional efforts throughout the year, including the highlight event CENTRESTAGE. The glittering fashion promotion and launch platform for fashion brands and collections will next take place 6-9 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). CENTRESTAGE serves as a showcase for international, and especially Asian, fashion brands and designers to launch their collections, and reaffirms Hong Kong’s position as the region’s fashion capital.
