Top Hong Kong Design Duo Engage Indian Businesses
19 April 2017 – Two leading designers from Hong Kong showcased their home city’s creative services advantages for the Indian business community during a promotional roadshow held last month in Mumbai, India. The 7 March event focused on creative design and marketing services was organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the India SME Forum.
Design in demand
The annual event at The St Regis in Mumbai attracted around 100 people, reflecting strong demand among Indian companies for creative solutions to upgrading and promoting their products and services. In his remarks opening the roadshow, Vinod Kumar, President of the India SME Forum, said, "Both, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and India SME Forum aspire for the business success of Indian SMEs. We are looking at exploring all platforms to offer opportunities for Indian SMEs to not only evolve their business but also reach out to the rest of the world. Today's seminar on 'Creativity for Business Success' was an important step in that direction."
Marketing “Made in India”; reinventing your business
In a presentation entitled “Beyond Creative! Inventive Thinking for marketing ‘Made in India’”, Rodney Tam, Founder & Executive Creative Director, Triangle Marketing Service Co Ltd, encouraged Indian companies to expand their horizons through marketing. “Hong Kong is famous for its intrinsic belief in doing business and India is the same,” he said. “The reason for Hong Kong’s success is that it looked outward and this international outlook brought about evolutionary changes, transforming Hong Kong companies, evolving from unbranded to OEM to brands and super brands, climbing up the value chain in manufacturing and services to countries across the world. Thus, Hong Kong is uniquely placed, with vast experience across sectors to assist Indian companies to move outward and reinvent themselves.”
Expanding horizons through Hong Kong’s creative services
Under the title of “Creating value by Design – Examples on Manufacturing Transformation and Upgrading”, Ron Leung, Founder & Director, L.I.M. Design Work Ltd said, “Hong Kong has been an international business hub for decades and its knowledge base can help Indian companies consolidate their advantages and scale up from local to global.”
