20th Eco Expo Asia to open end of October

Press conference next Thursday to preview new initiatives encompassing the Policy Address’s key environmental elements,

including carbon-negative building materials, a world-first battery energy storage system and a coastal biorefuge

2 October 2025 - Eco Expo Asia 2025, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR), will run on 28-31 October at AsiaWorld-Expo. This year marks the 20th edition of the Expo, themed Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality, bringing the latest global green products, equipment and technology. It will showcase innovative technology and solutions from various countries and regions in areas such as new energy, waste management and green finance. The last day will be open to the public with complimentary admission.

The latest Policy Address outlines a number of environmental policy directions, including promoting the development of the new energy industry, facilitating green and sustainable finance, enhancing waste reduction and recycling to achieve ‘Zero Landfill’, and fostering a green and low-carbon living environment. As a key annual environmental event, the Expo aligns with the Policy Address by featuring these policy initiatives through exhibition areas such as ‘Circular Economy and Waste Management’, ‘Green & Smart Mobility’, ‘Green Finance and ESG-Related Services’, and ‘New Energy and Energy Efficiency’, allowing companies to showcase their latest green technology.

A press conference will be held next Thursday (9 October) to highlight the features of Eco Expo and the latest environmental trends. Exhibitors will also present their innovative solutions. These include:

As an annual environmental event, the Expo continues to receive strong support from exhibitors and pavilions from the Chinese Mainland and around the world, as well as numerous local government departments and industry associations. The Environmental Campaign Committee, established nearly 35 years ago and the organiser of environmental events for diverse sectors of society, is sponsoring a new pavilion, which will showcase a variety of green technologies. The ANSO Environmental Technology Industry Alliance Pavilion, formed by The Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) and several mainland enterprises, will be participating for the first time. The pavilion will feature several mainland companies showcasing technology related to water resources and the atmospheric environment.

The annual highlight, Eco Asia Conference, will bring together government officials, industry leaders and experts from around the world to discuss the latest environmental trends and share insights on various sustainability issues.

The Expo will continue to use the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model. Exhibitors and buyers can conduct online business negotiations through the HKTDC Click2Match smart business matching platform from 21 October to 7 November.
