35th Hong Kong Book Fair, Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and World of Snacks open on Wednesday

Media pre-tour held tomorrow with exclusive sneak peek of highlights from three major summer cultural and leisure events

14 July 2025 The 35th Hong Kong Book Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held from 16 to 22 July (Wednesday to Tuesday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), running together with the HKTDC Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the HKTDC World of Snacks. These three major summer fairs will feature more than 770 exhibitors, offering a vibrant array of cultural and lifestyle experiences.

To enable the media to experience highlights of the World of Art & Culture, Sports and Leisure Expo, and World of Snacks in advance, a pre-tour will be organised on 15 July (Tuesday), a day before the fairs open to the public. In addition, media representatives are also invited to attend an opening reception in the afternoon of Wednesday, 16 July, the first day of the fairs, at which the guest of honour will be Cheuk Wing-hing, Acting Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The theme of this year's Book Fair is Food CultureFuture Living, inviting readers to explore diverse aspects of food culture through reading, savouring the cultural nuances and lifestyle attitudes behind various texts and delving into new food cultures shaped by future technologies to experience the joy brought by both reading and dining. The World of Art & Culture will present an exhibition titled “Book a TableFood for Thought” that features eight tables curated by eight artists, each exploring themes related to food and healthy living, surplus and future, table etiquette, lifestyle and culture, process, experience, music, art, and more. The exhibition will showcase related books and exhibits from around the world, while an interactive device onsite will recommend books and exhibits to visitors.

The Book Fair's Eight Seminar Series covers diverse topics including Theme of the Year, Renowned Writers, English and International Reading, World of Knowledge, Children and Youth Reading, Hong Kong Cultural and Historical, Lifestyle and Personal Development and Spiritual Growth, inviting a stellar line-up of celebrated Chinese and international authors to join the seminars in person. There will be over 620 cultural activities both onsite and offsite, providing diverse programmes for booklovers. This year, the HKTDC is collaborating with M1 Group Limited to bring the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Hong Kong 2025 international event to the HKCEC for the first time, running alongside the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo. A single ticket offers entry to all three fairs and the carnival-style 3x3 Village, where visitors can enjoy interactive sports booth games as well as sports product showcases.

The Hong Kong Playground Association returns to the expo, presenting experiences such as HADO AR dodgeball and drone soccer that offer an exciting fusion of tech and sport. In celebration of the 15th National Games, a dedicated display zone at the expo will feature games’ mascots Xiyangyang and Lerongrong, while the Hong Kong Sports Institute will set up a cheering zone where visitors can show their support for local athletes.

Meanwhile, the World of Snacks returns with a delectable selection of more than 1,300 tasty treats, featuring a variety of classic flavours, healthy options and handcrafted snacks from around the world.
