NEXT@Fashion InStyle Fashion Parade debuts on Monday

Five local designers use sustainable and innovative materials to help reshape fashion

 

25 April 2025 – Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Fashion InStyle kicks off on 27 April (Sunday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai, with the NEXT@Fashion InStyle Fashion Parade taking place on 28 April (Monday). The parade will showcase creative clothing from five local fashion designers using sustainable and innovative materials. Renowned designer Han Chong, founder of the acclaimed fashion label Self-Portrait, will serve as ambassador of NEXT@Fashion InStyle.

Combining environmental sustainability with fashion sensibility, these two collections are meticulously crafted using fibres extracted from seaweed and lotus stems, presenting an engaging and dynamic visual experiment that encourages further exploration of the sustainable use of natural resources.

Sustainable denim from Advance Denim is fused with military elements, drawing inspiration from old military uniforms to reinterpret classic styles with new materials.

Technologically advanced materials showcase both functionality and aesthetics.

Gambiered Canton Silk

Using Gambiered Canton Silk, an intangible cultural heritage of Guangdong with more than 1,000 years of history, the designs utilise the fabric’s lightweight and soft texture to create streamlined silhouettes and flowing skirts, blending cultural tradition with innovative design.

New fabric technologies weave together the essence of summer coastal vibes.

 

This year, Fashion InStyle has introduced a new focal zone, NEXT@Fashion InStyle (NEXT), with Thailand as the strategic partner. The event is fully supported by the Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) and The National Soft Power Development Committee.

 

Some 30 Thai exhibitors will showcase fashion materials that integrate elements of Thai cultural characteristics, sustainability and innovative technology. Alongside Thailand, the NEXT zone brings together over 60 exhibitors from Mainland China, Europe, the United States, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and other countries and regions, presenting a range of cutting-edge materials to create an international exchange platform that can lead future fashion trends.
