HKTDC launches 7 lifestyle events in late April
Highlighting Jingdezhen blind-box porcelain and new Gerontech Living Pavilion
17 April 2025 – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is staging seven large-scale trade events in late April covering lifestyle products and the licensing sector. The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle will take place from 27 to 30 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai. The Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair and DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong run concurrently at AsiaWorld-Expo, while the Hong Kong International Licensing Show (HKILS) and Asia Licensing Conference (ALC) will be held at the HKCEC from 28 to 30 April. The seven mega events will gather some 6,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions, offering buyers a wide range of creative designs, functional products, sustainable items and new materials, promoting synergies in the cultural and creative industries.
Embracing cultural and creative designs to foster cross-industry business opportunities
The 40th edition of the Gifts & Premium Fair features creative products from brands around the world. Local exhibitor Wei Yit Vacuum Flask Manufactory Ltd (Booth no: HKCEC 1C-E02), celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, will showcase different classic thermos products. The pavilion from Jingdezhen, a historic cultural city in Mainland China renowned for its ceramics, will launch products in the blind-box format (Booth no: HKCEC 3B-C24), which is popular among the younger generation. The proceeds from the sale of these products will go towards nurturing the next generation of designers and craftsmen.
Co-organised by the HKTDC and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited, the Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair celebrates its 20th edition in 2025, featuring a wide range of printing and packaging solutions. Exhibitor Dongguan Duopu Bio-based Innovation Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. (Booth no: AWE 3-G18) will present oil-proof and leak-proof paper tubes that support customisable designs. At Deluxe PrintPack Hong Kong, first-time exhibitor Roy Mark (Asia) Limited (Booth no: AWE 3-A11) showcases a New Year dominoes gift set and gift box to represent the dynamism of the Year of the Snake and the effect of a peacock spreading its feathers.
New pavilions feature silver market products and innovative fashion materials
Funded by the Hong Kong SAR Government's Innovation and Technology Commission, Home InStyle will introduce the new Gerontech Living Pavilion to showcase innovative products and solutions for the elderly from more than 10 local companies, including AI mobile toilets and smart walking sticks. The pavilion also features the Empathy Exploration Lab where industry professionals can get a better understanding of the needs of the elderly to help them seize opportunities in the burgeoning silver market. Funded by the Hong Kong SAR Government's Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the new NEXT@Fashion InStyle zone at the Fashion InStyle event is gathering more than 60 global materials suppliers. Five local designers have been invited to create products using innovative materials from the fair, which will be showcased at the event.
600+ brands and licensing projects on show, hottest industry topics explored
This year's HKILS see more than 600 brands and intellectual properties (IPs) on display. The event features well-known international brands, along with more than 90 popular local brands including Din Dong, Plastic Thing and Shibainc. The show also showcases innovative works from the Design Licensing and Business (DLAB) Support Scheme, sponsored by the CCIDA, which supports emerging creators.
The inaugural “Hong Kong Licensing Force”, a groundbreaking initiative debuting at the HKILS, showcases 15 cutting-edge licensing projects developed by students from local universities, addressing issues such as environmental protection, cultural preservation and social development. These projects will be displayed in a mix of creative formats, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences, to reflect the new wave of design thinking.
This year, the show also welcomes the first-time participation of two Egyptian museums, the Egyptian Museum Cairo and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, along with the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau. Held concurrently with the HKILS, the ALC brings together top-notch industry leaders to discuss the hottest topics in licensing, including the future development and challenges of the global licensing industry and how historical IPs balance their rich heritage in the changing market.
