InnoEX returns tomorrow

Media tour group to be held on the first day to showcase low-altitude economy and artificial intelligence technologies

12 April 2025 - InnoEX, co-organised by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will return tomorrow and lasts until Wednesday, 16 April, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and runs concurrently with the HKTDC’s 21st Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition)(EFSE). As the core events of Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BIT Week), the two exhibitions bring together more than 2,800 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions, covering international innovative technology products and solutions, and also gather speakers from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas to share their views through conferences, thematic activities and seminars at the events, to promote Hong Kong to become an international innovation and technology hub and drive the implementation of Research and Development outcomes.

The Opening Ceremony of BIT Week will be held on the first day of InnoEX and EFSE, and officiated by Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government.

Marking the third anniversary of InnoEX, the theme this year is "Innovation • Automate • Elevate". The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises of the HKSAR Government will host the “Tech-Driven Industry and Economy Conference" on the same morning with the theme “Empowering Industry for a Connected Global Economy”. Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government, will deliver the opening remarks.

The two exhibitions will feature high-profile forums. The LAE Development Conference will be held in the afternoon of the first day, with the theme of "Mapping the Future of Low Altitude Economy". Guests include Michael Wong, Deputy Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government; and Elizabeth Quat, Founding President of the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance. The main speakers include representatives from Aerofugia, China Mobile Hong Kong Co., Ltd, Godo Innovation Technology HK Ltd., INSKY LAB, and Vertaxi.

The 21st EFSE will retain last year’s "World’s Leading Electronics Marketplace" theme, and focus on products and solutions in the smart home, health tech and wearable sectors. A debut product design pavilion will bring uniquely styled industrial design home appliances. This year's Digital Entertainment Experiential Zone offers e-sports and interactive gaming experiences provided by game developers. These include competitions in boxing, rowing, and sailing, alongside robot arm drawing.

On the morning of the 2nd day of the fair will be the Tech Trends Symposium and with the theme of "AI on the Go: A New Era of Intelligent Wearable Electronics" to discuss the latest developments in AI. The main speakers included representatives from Lenovo (Hong Kong) Ltd., Momax Technology (HK) Ltd., Solos Technology Ltd. and Vision Intelligence Co., Ltd..

Talent is the core of innovation and technology development and InnoEX and EFSE have jointly organised an Exhibitors Meet Talents event to help exhibitors recruit talent in innovation and technology as well as other supporting areas like business development and marketing. Job seekers are encouraged to visit the event on the first day (13 April) to engage directly with exhibitors and apply for positions of interest. In addition, industry experts will be invited to share valuable insights and tips on job hunting and entering Hong Kong’s innovation and technology sector.

A media tour will be arranged on the opening day (April 13) to explore the solutions from the Smart Hong Kong Pavilion hosted by the Digital Policy Office. Additionally, selected exhibitors will introduce technology solutions and products, including those related to the low-altitude economy and AI.

Driven by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the HKTDC, the BIT Week will include the Smart Lighting Expo, Hong Kong Web3 Festival, InnoEX, EFSE, and the Hong Kong World Youth Science Conference. The Hong Kong World Youth Science Conference is held concurrently with InnoEX and EFSE, bringing together top innovative and technological talents such as Nobel Prize laureates to discuss important topics in areas such as big data, AI and biotechnology. In addition, the World Internet Conference will be held in Hong Kong as the host city for the first Asia-Pacific Summit, which will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14 to 15 April, and will leverage the cross-regional and cross-field synergy of the innovation and technology community with the various BIT Week events.
