HKTDC analyses ASEAN e-commerce market

 

9 March 2025 – In the 2025 Hong Kong Budget, initiatives were announced aimed at strengthening assistance for local SMEs looking to explore the Mainland China market and to help Hong Kong businesses seeking to expand in the ASEAN region.

 

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is organising the MarketingPulse and eTailingPulse conferences next Wednesday, 19 March. At one of the sessions, the HKTDC Research team will present a report analysing the ASEAN e-commerce market, covering online shoppers’ habits, receptiveness to marketing channels and willingness to spend in different product categories. The respondents featured in the report come from six ASEAN countries, namely Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. The report also highlights purchasing behaviours and perceptions towards Hong Kong brands and products in ASEAN, providing market-relevant insights for local brands and e-commerce retailers.

 

HKTDC Director of Research Irina Fan will preview key findings of the report in a press conference tomorrow.
