16th Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair opens tomorrow

Media tour with wine tasting and drinks from across the globe

6 November 2024 – The 16th Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will run on 7-9 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government, will be guest of honour at the opening reception tomorrow. The Fair welcomes industry professionals and buyers, while the last day will be open to public ticket-holders aged 18 or above.

With Hong Kong reducing the liquor duty rate, as announced during this year’s Policy Address, the Fair is an important platform to access Asia’s wine and spirits market. This year, more than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions will present a wide range of wine from around the world, including Australia, Mainland China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Japan, etc.

A Friends of Wine zone will showcase gourmet snacks. There will also be initiatives that promote the wine industry’s all-round development, including Wine Education and Training Services that will help develop business opportunities, while further promoting Hong Kong as a regional hub for the wine and spirits trade.

Some of this year’s highlights include:

The inaugural Sommeliers’ Picks will engage renowned sommeliers Arnaud Bardary MS, Carlito Chiu and Reeze Choi, second runner-up of ASI Best Sommelier of the World Contest 2023, who will share their favourite wine lists.

The Fair will also feature various competitions and prize-giving ceremonies, including the Hong Kong International Mixology Showdown 2024, Cathay Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition 2024 Award Presentation Ceremony and the WINE LUXE Hong Kong TOP 10 Wine Pairing Restaurant Awards Presentation Ceremony 2024.

Public Day events will include seminars, tasting sessions and master classes, during which visitors can savour and learn about fine wines.
