Eco Expo Asia kicks off tomorrow
Exploring latest trends in environmental protection
29 October 2024 ─ The 19th Eco Expo Asia, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo from 30 October to 2 November.
Tse Chin-wan, Secretary for Environment and Ecology of the HKSAR Government, will be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony, with officials from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China in attendance.
Themed “Fostering Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, this year’s Eco Expo Asia attracts over 300 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, showcasing innovative technologies and solutions in areas such as new energy, waste management and ESG-related. Electric vehicles and charging equipment will be shown in the Green Transportation zone, while for the first time several world-leading ESG certification and consultancy companies will exhibit in the Green Finance and ESG-related Services zone.
On 2 November, Eco Expo will be open to the public free of charge. A series of public talks will be held, including an ESG Career Talk and seminars presented by representatives from the Hong Kong Observatory, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Environmental Protection Department and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the HKSAR Government.
Government officials and industry leaders from countries and regions, such as Laos, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Brunei and Vietnam, will share insights on various environmental issues at the Eco Asia Conference. More programme highlights from the fair are listed below.
