Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair press conference to be held tomorrow
Exhibition highlights and select spirits and wines to be revealed, including wine showcases by exhibitors and award-winning sommelier
20 October 2024 – The Hong Kong SAR Government has reduced the duty rate on high-end imported liquor, a measure announced in Chief Executive John Lee’s latest Policy Address, to promote the liquor trade as well as the tourism, F&B and logistics sectors.
The 16th Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), it will run on 7-9 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
HKTDC will host a press conference tomorrow to unveil the details and product highlights for the fair, to which the reduced liquor duty rate will provide many new business opportunities.
The Wine & Spirits Fair will feature exhibitors from around the world, showcasing a diverse range of alcoholic beverages, wine accessories, appliances and services, gourmet foods, wine investment products and wine education and training to help promote Hong Kong as a regional hub for the wine trade.
The Wine & Spirits Fair will showcase spirits and Chinese Baijiu in the Mainland China Pavilion, as well as a wide range of spirits from around the world, including whiskies from Japan and Ireland.
The fair will also hold a seminar on the market outlook for spirits in Hong Kong as well as promotional activities for Chinese Baijiu.
The Wine & Spirits Fair will showcase award-winning specialty wines and spirits. Some key highlights include:
The Fair will present many other wines from various countries, including Australia, Chile, France, Italy, South Africa and the United States.
It will also feature wine tastings, wine industry conferences and sharing sessions hosted by world-class Masters of Wine, sommeliers and industry professionals as well as competitions and award ceremonies.
At the press conference, Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, will unveil the main highlights and details of this year’s Wine Fair. Jennifer Docherty, Master of Wine, and Reeze Choi, second runner-up of ASI Best Sommelier of the World Competition 2023, will analyse industry trends. More than 20 exhibitors will showcase a wide range of alcoholic beverages and gourmet food.
