19th Eco Expo Asia opens at end of October
Preview the innovative packaging material and latest electric bus at press conference
16 October 2024 - Eco Expo Asia 2024, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR), will run from 30 October to 2 November at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). The last day is open to the public with admission free.
Themed Fostering Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality, this year’s Expo will bring together leading companies to showcase innovative technologies and solutions in areas such as new energy, waste management and green finance.
As a key environmental event, the Expo is supported by exhibitors and group participations from multiple countries and regions. In addition to the return of Canada, Finland and the Netherlands, the Expo will feature group participation from Norway with Innovation Norway’s support for the first time.
The Expo has received strong support from provinces and cities in Mainland China this year as well, with the newly joined Anhui Pavilion and the return of Inner Mongolia Pavilion.
Furthermore, it features various zones including Green Transportation, Green Building Technology and Services, Green Finance & ESG-related Services, as well as Waste Management and Circular Economy. The popular Startup zone will return this year to showcase the latest green technologies from new companies.
A press conference on Thursday, 17 October (tomorrow) will introduce the features and activities of this year’s Expo. Some exhibitors will bring their innovative green products for media preview, including:
The Sustainable Restaurant Awards 2024 will be presented during the Expo. For the first time, this award will recognise the actual carbon footprint of restaurants and is set to become a new focal point for the catering and environmental sectors.
A highlight of the Expo will be the Eco Asia Conference, where government officials, industry leaders and experts from various countries and regions will share their insights on different environmental challenges and opportunities. Officials from ASEAN and Belt and Road countries such as Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam are expected to attend.
The Expo will continue to use the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model. Exhibitors and buyers can conduct online business negotiations through the HKTDC Click2Match smart business matching platform from 23 October to 9 November.
