Curtain rises on HKTDC’s lifestyle, licensing events
April fairs include the gifts, printing and packaging, and licensing events launching tomorrow
26 April 2024 – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) hosts seven business and trade events in late April. The first two fairs, Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle, concluded successfully on 23 April. Following these curtain raisers, the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair will be held from tomorrow to 30 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and the inaugural DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong will be held concurrently at AsiaWorld-Expo. The Hong Kong International Licensing Show (HKILS) and Asian Licensing Conference (ALC) run from tomorrow to 29 April at the HKCEC. Algernon Yau, Hong Kong SAR Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, will be the officiating guest at the joint networking reception tomorrow.
Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong, and HKILS will feature over 4,800 exhibitors from some 22 countries and regions, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Spain, Thailand and the United States. At the ALC nearly 30 international licensing industry experts will share insights.
Promoting growth of design-related brands focused on sustainability and innovative technology
The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair features a dedicated zone, the Cultural & Creative Corner, showcasing over 30 exhibitors. The zone will feature designs with local cultural characteristics and products related to intangible cultural heritage from exhibitors of Shandong and Henan provinces, who have participated in the National Cultural and Tourism IP Authorisation Series Activities 2024 under the guidance of the national Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The Outdoor & Sporting Goods zone debuts this year while the winning pieces of the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards, organised by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, will feature on-site.
A major highlight of the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair is the Green Printing & Packaging Solutions zone, which aims to help the industry keep up with e-commerce and sustainable development trends.
The HKTDC and CIEC Exhibition Company (Hong Kong) Limited jointly organise the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair as well as the DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong. The fair will focus on luxury and creative packaging solutions for products covering such categories as food, cosmetics, wine, watches and jewellery.
The HKILS will gather more than 320 exhibitors, showcasing over 550 brands and licensing projects, including arts and culture, cartoon characters, corporate trademarks, leisure and sports brands, displaying a diverse range of licensing projects. This year, several renowned mainland museums, including the Palace Museum, the National Museum of China, the Gansu Jiandu Museum and the Henan Museum, participate in the HKILS to showcase IP licensing of creative art.
The ALC also invites Maura Regan, an experienced industry professional and the President and CEO of Licensing International, to give insight into the overall market outlook and trends for global licensing. Clara Fort, Vice President of Global Brand Licensing at Eastman Kodak Company, will discuss creative licensing collaboration success cases and share experiences in the transformation of traditional brands. In the Licensing Academy session, Lisa Zhang, Co-founder of Alfilo Brands, will share views on sustainable development in IP licensing.
