Inaugural Smart Lighting Expo, Spring Lighting Fair open tomorrow
Themed Bright Lighting, Smart Living, the illumination events are curtain-raisers for HKTDC April tech fairs
5 April 2024 – Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the inaugural Smart Lighting Expo and 15th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) will run from tomorrow to Tuesday, 6 to 9 April, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, raising curtains on the four major HKTDC tech fairs in April. Themed Bright Lighting, Smart Living, the lighting fairs will feature more than 1,300 exhibitors showcasing diverse lighting products, helping exhibitors and buyers capture business opportunities.
As a Business of Innovation and Technology Week (BITWeek) partner event, the inaugural Smart Lighting Expo showcases connected lighting technologies including chips, sensors, LED drivers and IoT lighting platforms, as well as smart lighting products and solutions such as smart lamps, smart control systems and dimmers, creating opportunities to explore tremendous businesses opportunities brought by lighting and healthy living, sustainable development and innovative technology. Co-organised with Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association, the Smart Ecosystem and IoT Supply Chain Area showcases a range of renowned brands including Midea, Sunricher and DALI alliance. Other brands at Smart Lighting Expo will be Helvar, Valta, Hangzhou Sky-Lighting Company, Up-Shine Lighting Company and many more.
The 15th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) continues to serve as a one-stop platform for commercial lighting, residential lighting, technical lighting, decorative lighting and more. The Hall of Aurora brings together innovative lighting products and technology from over 260 well-known brands.

Smart Lighting Expo
The system supports mobile application remote control, voice control, schedules appointments, scene linking and issues fault reminders. Modes for many scenarios such as smart dimming, gradient light source and reading/writing are also available.
The solution uses trajectory tracking, area sensing and movement detection to turn devices on or off through gesturing. The system can also help care homes and hospitals detect elderly residents’ falls and raise the alarm early for timely treatment.
Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition)
The product comes with strong weather resistance, fit for use between minus 20C and plus 85C, with consistent colour and intensity.
Serving as a wall and reading lamp with an elegantly designed stainless steel frame and white fabric shade, the lamp adds a warm vibe to the room, which can also act as focused lights for bed reading.
Both fairs feature activities such as thematic seminars and product launches, where industry experts are invited to share insights on hot topics and trends.
Smart Lighting Solution Forum 2024 at Smart Lighting Expo on Sunday, 7 April, will include two sessions – Smart Home’s Overseas Expansion Trend and Intelligent Eco Networking & Light for Health Supply Chain.
Asian Lighting Forum 2024 tomorrow, 6 April will include two sessions – Illuminating Life: The Impact & Applications of Human-centric Lighting and Enlightening the Future: Sustainable Design in the Lighting Industry – where experts and award-winning designers will exchange views on market trends.
