10 March 2024 - The 28th Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) will raise the curtain on the silver screen from 11 to 14 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This annual film and television entertainment industry showcase, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is a core Entertainment Expo Hong Kong event. Entertainment Expo formally launches on the first day of FILMART. Guests will including Eric Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Kevin Yeung, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong SAR, Dr Peter K N Lam, Chairman of the HKTDC, Second-Grade Counsel, Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs Office, National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), People’s Republic of China, Shi Zhiyan, and Hong Kong Entertainment Expo Ambassador Leon Lai.

FILMART attracts global exhibitors, showcases production technology

As the largest cross-media and cross-industry trade platform in Asia's leading film and entertainment centre, FILMART will showcase the latest international productions and cutting-edge technology. The Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) will mark its FILMART presence by holding the grand opening ceremony of its virtual production studio. The Hong Kong Baptist University will debut at FILMART, presenting cutting edge artificial intelligence, visualisation and human-machine interaction technologies for film creation. In an exciting collaboration with Votion Studios, a leading Hong Kong-based tech firm, FILMART will debut a virtual production studio on-site, showcasing the latest production techniques.

FILMART has drawn more than 750 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions this year, with over 30 regional pavilions, including debut appearances by Hubei province, Indonesia and Macao. The Ministry of Culture of Thailand will also set up a dedicated Thai Pavilion and launch Thai Day. Exhibitors from Mainland China and overseas will augment the prestigious array of Hong Kong entertainment institutions. Notable participants include Contents Panda, Huace, iQIYI, Kadokawa, K-Movie, Shanghai Youhug Media, TBS, Tencent and TV Asahi.
