50th Toys and Games Fair to witness industry development

Over 2,600 exhibitors at Toys and Games, Baby Products and Stationery & School Supplies fairs

7 January 2024 – The 50th HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair and 15th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the 22nd Hong Kong International Stationery and School Supplies Fair, co-organised with Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from tomorrow to Thursday (8 to 11 January), launching the 2024 HKTDC trade shows.

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, will be Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony.

The trio – themed Innovative Play: A Legend Across Time – will feature more than 2,600 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, including diverse group pavilions from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia and Europe. More than 200 buying missions have been invited to source at the fair.

Since the first edition in 1975, the Toys and Games Fair has witnessed the growth of Hong Kong’s toy industry. To celebrate the milestone 50th edition this year, the HKTDC presents the Toys and Games Fair Photo Gallery showcasing valuable photos and videos of past fairs, offering visitors a walk down memory lane to recap the industry’s growth over half a century.

The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair and Hong Kong Baby Products Fair will offer several themed zones for easy sourcing. The Brand Name Gallery at both fairs will feature unique and innovative products, gathering more than 220 renowned toy brands and over 40 for baby products. Various zones and pavilions will also debut at the Toys Fair, including a Green Toy zone to showcase products incorporated with green elements in terms of material, design, manufacturing process and packaging.  Kidult World at Hall 3B introduces a Collectible Toys zone this year. A two-metre Ultraman figurine and 1.5-metre tall HK Machines model outside the hall will give visitors a photo opportunity.

The Hong Kong Baby Products Fair launches the Selection of Europe group pavilion, showcasing European brands and products, while a new Huzhou pavilion will present baby fashion products from the mainland. Co-organised by the HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair organisers will continue to cooperate with renowned industry associations in different regions, including China Stationery and Sporting Goods Association, Malaysia Stationery Importers And Exporters Association and The Federation of Stationers And Booksellers Association of Malaysia.

On 9 January, the second day of fair, the revamped Asian Toys and Games Forum – themed Unlocking the Asian Market: Insights for the Toy Industry – will be held. International toy and game industry experts will discuss market trends and share views on toy industry development and opportunities. The fairs will also host various seminars covering such topics as green toy trends, sustainable maternity and baby product market development, latest toy safety regulations, toy compliance, testing and certification, stationery industry trends, digitalisation and artificial intelligence applications, keeping visitors up to date on trends.
