Chill 11 opens tomorrow
The most chill Christmas entertainment with performances
by Wan Kwong and After Class
22 December 2023 – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is launching Chill 11 at AsiaWorld-Expo during the Christmas holiday (23-26 December). With three main themes – Entertainment, Art and Culture, and Shopping – the event brings together arts, culture, culinary delights and entertainment experiences, as well as brands and products, creating an extraordinary retail-entertainment experience for Hong Kong and Macao residents, along with visitors from Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, to enjoy.
For entertainment Chill 11 will showcase star-studded performances, including a crossover between the veteran singer Jackson Wan Kwong, renowned for humorous songs, and the new-generation rapper Taco Wong on Boxing Day (26 December). An up-and-coming Chinese music group After Class (Gigi Yim, Chantel Yiu, Yumi Chung and Windy Zhan), as well as Albert Chau and Ramon Lo of Midlife, Sing & Shine will also be on stage. Other highlights include performances of street dance, street music, cheerleading and taekwondo, as well as an 8-metre-high sparkling Christmas tree and a Giant Snow Globe for people to check out.
Art and Culture offerings include about 30 workshops, featuring Hong Kong minibus signage and Christmas lantern making. The immersive art experience area features an East meets West corridor, where award-winning works from the 2022 Sino-French Young Artists Competition Award (organised by the Chinese Western Culture Arts Association) will be presented digitally, including Qin Chi-ho’s Tang Sanjue – Bring in the Wine and Ng Chun-hei’s Dear cat I miss you. The public can enjoy the poetic atmosphere within the virtual realm. Monet’s The Japanese Footbridge and Van Gogh’s Wheat Field with Cypresses will also feature as animated paintings to illustrate the impressionist style of Western art and its interpretation of natural landscapes.
Limited Christmas lucky bags and free shuttle bus provided
The shopping theme also brings offers. Chill 11 tickets are priced at HK$30, with a HK$3 discount when bought through ticketing partner AlipayHK and Alipay App. Children, full-time students and senior citizens aged 65 or above enjoy free admission.
