15th Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair opens tomorrow

Media tour offers sneak peek of this fine-beverage showcase along with wine tasting

2 November 2023 The 15th Hong Kong Wine and Spirits Fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will host more than 500 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, showcasing a diverse range of wines, spirits and beers, as well as wine-related products and services, running from tomorrow to Sunday (3 to 5 November) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The fair welcomes industry professionals and buyers and on the last day, 5 November (Sunday), it is also open to public ticket holders aged 18 or above.

A media tour tomorrow will offer a taste of event highlights.

The fair will feature 11 international group pavilions from wine-producing regions, trade organisations and government bodies of Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan’s National Tax Agency, Gifu and Nagano prefectures, as well as Sichuan province, Ningxia Hui and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regions from Mainland China. The Hong Kong General Chamber of Wine & Spirits will be among the featured pavilions. In addition to liquor and beverages, the Wine & Spirits Fair will present zones promoting the wine industry’s diversified development, including Wine Education, Wine Accessories, Equipment and Services. The Friends of Wine zone will showcase snacks and nibbles to accompany wines.

The three-day fair will feature a number of events, including multiple wine-tasting sessions, where participants can try fine wines from around the world.

Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, will be Guest of Honour at the Opening Reception tomorrow evening. Two wine industry conferences, titled EcoVino: Sustainability Trends and Solutions and Uncorking Opportunities: Mapping the China & Asian Wine Markets will be held during the fair.

The fair serves as a premium platform for wine industry players to uncover talents and showcase award-winning fine-beverages. Various competitions and prize-giving ceremonies will be held during the fair, such as the Hong Kong International Mixology Showdown 2023, Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition 2023 Award Presentation Ceremony, and 2023 Top 10 Food & Wine Pairing Restaurant Award Ceremony hosted by Wine Luxe Magazine.

Public Day events will include seminars, tasting sessions and master classes for visitors to enjoy fine wines and learn more about the art of drinking.
