18^th Eco Expo Asia opens at AsiaWorld-Expo tomorrow

Innovative environmental products and technologies on display as Public Day features diverse activities

 

25 October 2023 – Eco Expo Asia 2023, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo from 26 to 29 October (Thursday to Sunday). The Expo is expected to attract over 300 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions and will feature a hydrogen commercial vehicle display. Tse Chin-wan, Secretary for Environment and Ecology of the Hong Kong SAR, is invited to be the Guest of Honor at the opening ceremony, while Guo Fang, Vice Minister, member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China, will deliver a keynote speech.

 

The Expo features nine thematic zones. The Government has vigorously promoted green transport technologies. The Green Transportation zone showcases electric vehicles and charging equipment. Wisdom Motors (HK) Limited will exhibit hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles such as container trucks and garbage trucks. Huawei International Co. Limited will introduce its latest charging piles that can fully charge an electric vehicle in just 10 minutes, meeting demand for fast charging. Chung Yang International (Hong Kong) will showcase sustainable solutions extending the lifespan of electric vehicle batteries.

 

Exhibitors come from various countries and regions, attracting participation from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and overseas pavilions. Other zones include Waste Management and Circular Economy, Green Buildings and Energy Efficiency, Green Finance & ESG-related Services, while the much-anticipated Startup Zone will showcase products and technologies addressing environmental issues.

 

The key Eco Asia Conference will run from 26 to 28 October. Featured topics include a government session, Climate Change, C40 Climate Action, ESG and Sustainable finance, Green Tech and Digital Transformation of the Circular Economy. Further briefings and seminars will cover other environmental topics, allowing exhibitors and buyers to stay abreast of industry trends and exchange ideas.

 

The last day of the Expo (29 October) is designated a Public Day, with free admission for the general public, allowing visitors to learn more about the latest environmental inventions and technologies, and to participate in a series of seminars and workshops. The Green Mart will also be set up for visitors to shop for green products.

 

In addition, the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will be held concurrently at AsiaWorld-Expo from 26 to 29 October, featuring 380 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of outdoor, technical and professional lighting solutions for commercial and industrial use.
