Fashion showcase CENTRESTAGE opens tomorrow
Embark on a fashion odyssey with 240 local and global brands
5 September 2023 – Asia's annual fashion extravaganza, CENTRESTAGE, will be held from 6 to 9 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The four-day event will feature over 240 local and international brands from 19 countries and regions. With this year’s theme, "Radiant Wellness”, CENTRESTAGE highlights the notion that fashion can elevate individual well-being.
The exhibition will be open exclusively to fashion buyers for the first two days, and welcome both buyers and the public for the final two days. Building upon last year’s success, the event will once again feature various digital fashion and artificial intelligence (AI) concepts. For example, AI will be utilised to create AI models in various designers’ creations appearing at the fairground.
Opening Reception will be held on the first night of CENTRESTAGE. Kevin Yeung, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR will attend as officiating guest. A highlight of CENTRESTAGE is, the opening gala show CENTRESTAGE ELITES. This year, Hong Kong fashion designer Wilson Choi will present his latest collection from his high-end streetwear brand, REDEMPTIVE. Japanese brand FETICO's designer Emi Funayama will debut her Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
Hanna Chan, Hong Kong high jump champion Cecilia Yeung and Pete will be star models of the show. Other attending celebrities include Ali Lee, Alfred Hui, Phoebus Ng, Carlos Chan, Kathy Yuen, Sammy Sum, Rosita Kwok, Shirley Sham, Regina Ho, Kevin Chu and Adam Pak.
The Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show will be staged in collaboration with the Hong Kong Ballet. Four local brands, including 112 mountainyam, ANGUS TSUI, DORISKATH and SUN=SEN, will have their latest collections showcased by ballet dancers. Cloud Wan, Cecilia So, Shiga Lin and Lo Chun-yip (Siuyea) will wear the four local designer labels’ collection to attend the event.
Throughout the exhibition, an array of captivating fashion performances awaits. Including FASHIONALLY Collection #21 and Fashion Farm Foundation's "House Show: Fashion Fusing" on 6 September, FASHIONALLY presentation - on 6 and 7 September, and the Hong Kong Kids Fashion Show on 9 September.
CENTRESTAGE’s grand finale will be the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest (YDC) 2023 Final on 9 September. The judging panel, which includes Han Chong, Founder and Creative Director of self-portrait, and Yu Masui, a fashion journalist and digital content creator, will select the winners among the ten finalists for four major awards. Kay Tse and The Hertz will make a special appearance at the competition, offering support to the aspiring designers.
