Fashion extravaganza CENTRESTAGE returning in September
4-day event promoting sustainability and wellness
Artists Phoebus Ng and Hanna Chan will attend press conference
16 August 2023 – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will once again stage Asia’s premier fashion event CENTRESTAGE from 6 to 9 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). With participation from 17 countries and regions, some 200 brands will showcase the latest trends in global fashion.
Riding on last year’s success in fusing fashion and technology, this year's event will continue to incorporate digital fashion and artificial intelligence, presenting the latest innovative technological applications in the fashion industry to create an engaging experience for fashion buyers and visitors.
In its eighth edition, CENTRESTAGE returns with a “Radiant Wellness” theme to celebrate vibrant and healthy aesthetics in fashion. The grand opening gala, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, will feature the latest collection from Hong Kong designer Wilson Choi's high-end streetwear brand, REDEMPTIVE. The event will also mark the debut of FETICO, a women's fashion brand founded by Emi Funayama from Japan, as she unveils her Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
The fair period has been extended from 3 to 4 days this year, with a series of fashion shows, parades and seminars focusing on sustainability trends in fashion. The last two days of the exhibition will be open to the public, with free admission.
At the press conference, we will share highlights about CENTRESTAGE, including the opening gala show CENTRESTAGE ELITES, the Fashion Hong Kong runway show, FASHIONALLY Collection Show & Presentation and Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest. Design pieces from a number of local fashion designers will be on display. Furthermore, Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, will introduce the overview of the fair, while Katherine Fong, Chairman of the HKTDC Garment Advisory Committee, and Edwin Keh, Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel, will discuss the latest industry development trends. Artists Phoebus Ng Kai Yeung, Hanna Chan Hon Na and Brian Chan On Lap will attend, wearing outfits created by two CENTRESTAGE ELITES fashion designers. After the press conference, we invite media to a cocktail reception to interact with CENTRESTAGE brand designers.
