Asia Summit on Global Health held tomorrow

Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair features new technology products

 

9 November 2022 – The debut International Healthcare Week, coordinated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will feature two anchor events – the second Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH), co-organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the HKTDC, and the 13^th HKTDC Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair.

 

The ASGH will be staged on 10 and 11 November (Thursday and Friday). The first day will be held physically at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) with livestreaming on the online platform, while the second day will be entirely virtual. Under the theme “Charting a New Course in Healthcare through Collaboration”, the summit brings together around 80 speakers – from healthcare experts to renowned academics and influential business leaders, together with key industry players, innovative start-ups, investors and policymakers from around the world – to exchange insights, explore opportunities and collaborate in the diverse and dynamic healthcare sector.

 

In the opening session, John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, will deliver the opening remarks, while Dr Zsuzsanna Jakab, Deputy Director-General of World Health Organization; and Cao Xuetao, Vice-Minister of National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China will address the summit as a guest speaker. Prof Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Health and Prof Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR, will also share their insights on healthcare industry development in Mainland China. At 4:30pm on the first day of the summit, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and PanopticAI will conduct a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding [MOU] on digital healthcare solution improvement. The ceremony will be led by Kenneth Tsang, CEO of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, and Kyle Wong, PanopticAI CEO & Cofounder.

 

More than 300 exhibitors will participate in the International Medical and Healthcare Fair, organised by the HKTDC, which will be held both offline and online. The physical fair takes place from November 9 to 11 (Wednesday to Friday) at the HKCEC. The fair, running under the theme "Decoding MedTech Trends", will feature the latest medical technologies and devices, healthcare and beauty products, and related solutions and services in various zones, enabling medical industry professionals to get a thorough overview of developments in the industry and source new products. These zones include Biotechnology, Hospital Equipment, Rehabilitation and Elderly Care and World of Health and Wellness, along with "Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association" pavilion’s exhibition zone and the Startup Zone. Among the iconic products on display will be the Intelligent Call Bell System, a Pocket Smartphone Ophthalmoscope, Anatomy VR Software and the Portable Digital Blood Pressure Monitor.
