Asia’s fashion spotlight CENTRESTAGE opens tomorrow

Spring/summer 2023 trends unveiled at 30 exciting events

8 September 2022CENTRESTAGE, Asia’s premier fashion event, will be held from 9 to 11 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). This year, the fair will have “Inclusion and Diversity” as its central theme, showcasing the latest collections of more than 240 brands from 15 countries and regions. The three-day event will be open to fashion buyers as well as the general public.

 

CENTRESTAGE ELITES is the spotlight opening gala show, featuring Hong Kong brand DEMO and Japanese label Children of the discordance. Derek Chan will launch the 2023 spring/summer collection of his fashion label DEMO together with co-founder Mite Chan. At the same time, Japanese designer Hideaki Shikama, founder of young fashion brand Children of the discordance, will showcase one of his collections in Hong Kong for the first time. Celebrity artiste Louise Wong will be the star model at the show. Other attending celebrities include Joyce Cheng, Alfred Hui, Jay Fung, Kenny Kwan,Tim@Dear Jane, Dickson Yu, Jude Tsang, Det Dik and more. The Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show with the theme of "Sustainable Fashion" will feature six Hong Kong brands presenting their 2023 spring/summer collections, including 112 mountainyam, ANGUS TSUI, Bettie Haute Couture, BLIND by JW, SUN=SEN and V VISSI. Local enterprise Novetex Textiles Limited has been invited to work with the designers, each of whom will use upcycled fibres from The Billie System to create distinctive designs with sustainable elements.

 

Other shows include the "Fashion Forward GBA 2022" featuring the Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF) (9 September), the LEGO® DOTS YOUR STYLE Fashion show (10 September) and Hong Kong Kids Fashion Show (11 September). The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of the Thai Government will bring over 30 Thai brands at the fair. A Thai fashion parade will be held on 9 September.

 

Another highlight of this year’s CENTRESTAGE will be the final of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest 2022 (YDC) on 11 September. CENTRESTAGE ELITES participating Japanese designer Hideaki Shikama will be the VIP judge on the star-studded judging panel, with 10 shortlisted competition entrants vying for four awards. Celebrity artistes Will Or, Siu Yea and Brian Chan and will attend the event to show support.
