Third Belt and Road Summit to be Held Tomorrow
Global Business Leaders, Investors and Project Owners to “Collaborate for Success”

27 June 2018 – The third Belt and Road Summit, jointly organised by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held tomorrow (28 June) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Themed “Collaborate for Success”, the Summit has invited about 70 government officials, business leaders and representatives of international organisations from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and around the world to share their insights and explore collaboration opportunities. Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Xiao Yaqing, Chairman, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), Ning Jizhe, Vice Chairman, National Development and Reform Commission, Gao Yan, Vice Minister, Ministry of Commerce of Chinese Mainland and Dr Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, will deliver the opening remarks.

Hong Kong and Georgia will sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) at the Summit. Government representatives from Hong Kong and Georgia will speak to the media after the signing ceremony.

In addition, Hong Kong enterprises including the CLP Group and Ho & Partners Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Ltd (hpa), will sign memorandums of understanding (MoU) with a number of Thai companies during the Summit. HKTDC will also sign an MoU with Bangkok Bank and Siam Commercial Bank. Vincent HS Lo, Chairman of the HKTDC and Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, will witness the signing ceremony.
