FILMART Opens In Hong Kong Next Monday
Mega Industry Event to Feature some 800 Exhibitors

8 March 2017 – A global cast of industry players will be in Hong Kong next week for the 21st edition of the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), which opens on 13 March and continues through 16 March.

FILMART, the leading entertainment market in Asia, will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). This year, about 800 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions will participate in FILMART. Alongside major Hong Kong film companies, this year sees greater participation from exhibitors from different Chinese mainland provinces and cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Sichuan, Guangdong and Hangzhou. The governments of Ningbo and Fujian will even set up regional pavilions for the first time. In addition, more than 200 exhibitors from 15 Belt and Road countries will take part in FILMART to open up global opportunities.

This year’s FILMART spotlights documentaries. Visitors can find the documentary works of some 120 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, and take part in the "Opportunity for Documentaries in Asia" seminar on day three, where Ruby Yang, winner of the Academy Award for Documentary Short Subject and many international accolades, will examine industry-related topics.

This year’s FILMART also features a star-studded line-up of speakers such as Andrew Hevia, Co-producer of the Oscar Best Picture Moonlight; Genki Kawamura, producer of Your Name, Confessions and If Cats Disappeared from the World; and a representative from Digitalidea, the post production company behind such hits as Train To Busan and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

You and your representatives are cordially invited to cover FILMART. Please register at our media centre located at the Expo Drive Entrance, HKCEC. Details are as follows:
