HKTDC Entrepreneur Day Opens This Month
Press Conference to Announce Details, Introduce Entrepreneurs

18 May 2015 – The seventh HKTDC Entrepreneur Day will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 29-30 May, featuring a record number of more than 270 exhibitors. The two-day fair will present the latest start-up intelligence and support services through an exhibition as well as seminars, forums, pitching sessions and business consultations.

“Helping Start-ups Take Off” is the theme of this year’s Entrepreneur Day. There will be more than 20 seminars, forums and workshops during the fair and the HKTDC has invited more than 40 entrepreneurs and renowned speakers to share practical tips and experience on entrepreneurship with the audience. Speakers include:

• JieJie & Uncle Cat, Cartoonist and Author
• Frederick Ma, Honorary Professor, School of Economics and Finance, University of Hong Kong
• Kenneth Fok, Chairman, Hong Kong United Youth Association
• Akina Fong, Founder, akn. Media & Leather
• Robert Chua, Chairman, A La Bakery
• Leung Sze Ho, Co-founder of Chung So Si Fong Dessert
• Reeve Kwan, Co-founder, GoGoVan.

A new exhibition zone “Information Communications Technology Zone (ICT Zone)”, will showcase start-up success cases related to innovative technology, e-marketing, e-commerce and mobile business apps among other areas.  The "Cross Matching Zone" will increase the exposure of Hong Kong’s creative and innovation industries, which add value to products through brand building. A new event, “Start-up Runway” will provide entrepreneurs, investors and start-ups with a networking, early stage fundraising and information-sharing platform from which to explore business collaboration opportunities.

We cordially invite you or your representative to cover the press conference on Thursday (21 May). Guest speakers will talk about their own experiences and discuss the current situation in Hong Kong for start-up entrepreneurs.  Details are as follows:

• Single Person Transport Design Ltd - “MoBiLET” (Mobile Bi-wheel Light Electronic Transport) enhances employability, living standards and social interaction for the physically challenged
• Utopian Studio – tailor-made blown glass and handmade products
• Handmaid Production - Cansoap uses natural oils, herbs and essential oils to produce environment-friendly beauty products
• Ways BB Ltd – a new start-up selling Eco cloth diapers, changing pads and organic baby care products.
• Acocake – a cupcake bakery shop pioneered by three young start-up entrepreneurs.
